NEC’s NH Superintendent Licensure Only program offers a specialized educational pathway designed to prepare individuals for the crucial role of school district superintendent, a role responsible for making critical decisions that affect the educational experiences of a community’s students.

Program Structure

The Superintendent Licensure Only Program consists of five core courses, plus internship for all candidates.

Candidates who do not currently hold New Hampshire Professional Educator licensure will complete an additional course to meet State requirements.

Admission Requirements

Applicants to the Superintendent Licensure program will be required to submit an employment verification letter from Human Resources to confirm years of experience and titles held.

Superintendent Licensure requires the completion of at least fve years of experience as an education administrator at the pre-K, elementary, or secondary level. Applicants must also hold a master’s degree (MEd, MA, MS) or higher in Educational Administration or Educational Leadership from a regionally accredited institution with a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average.

Please note that all field work is mandatory and will take place in the state of New Hampshire.
